As Indian Premier League 2011 (IPL 2011) has entered final stages of its preliminary round, the competition is getting tougher for the participating ten franchises and the players.
Lasith Malinga Traditionally, Twenty20 cricket is batsmen’s game but during the current season of the IPL bowlers have shown good control and grabbed lots of wickets.
Munaf Patel The Purple Cap holder is Lasith Malinga from Mumbai Indians who has been keeping hold of the cap and now has 26 wickets from 11 matches, leading his fellow team-mate Munaf Patel with 17 wickets and then Rahul Sharma of Pune Warriors India with 14 wickets.
Rahul Sharma The top ten bowlers list includes three bowlers from the Mumbai Indians as the team has played superbly under their skipper Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. The reigning champions Chennai Super Kings have two bowlers in the top 10 list but Lasith Malinga has a clear lead over all the other bowlers as the second best bowler has nine less wickets than the top Sri Lankan fast bowler.
