It was an enthralling victory as Delhi Daredevils superhero’s Virender Sehwag (77) and David Warner (77) thrashed strong contenders Kings XI Punjab by 29 runs in a high-scoring thriller IPL match held at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium, Delhi here on Saturday.
Opting to bat first, Virendra shewag made a superb 77 innings off 28 balls whereas Warner made 77 runs of 29 balls. Both the opener batsmen gave a brilliant half century each to bring up the Delhi Daredevils’ 100 in the ninth over and sum up a total 231/4 in today’s match innings.
Apart from this, Sehwag hits 4 sixes and 8 fours in his blitzkrieg knock while Warner chipped 7 fours and 4 sixes feasted on a track which had enough bounce and movement to keep all the pacemen interested.
Chasing a massive of 232 runs target, Punjab delivered a remarkable scores 202/6. The game was tough yet challenging enough for both the team in their today’s IPL innings.
For Kings IX Punjab, the notable performer was Shaun Marshs, made a superb innings with his 46-ball 95 including with 6 sixes and 9 fours. Though, Adam Gilchrist and Dinesh Karthik had to leave the stadium in quick succession.

Delhi Daredevils posted an impressive 190/7 in 19.2 overs to chase a victory over Pune Warriors by three wickets in a high-scoring Indian Premier League held at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on Sunday.
Yuvraj Singh, the caption of pune warrior left no stone unturned to defeat the game but all his effort fall in vain as he didn’t reached to set target. However, Yuvraj made an unbeaten 66 for Pune that sum up a total of 187-5.
Earlier, Delhi Daredevils gave a good start as they scored 75 runs for the first wicket. Warner smashed (46 runs out of 28 balls covering his six boundaries and two sixers. Sehwag chipped 37 runs out of 23 balls includes six boundaries. Whereas, Venugopal Rao secured 31 runs out of 20 balls including one boundary and three sixes and Finch made 25 runs out of 12 balls that include one boundary and two sixes.
Pune, who suffered their first defeat in three games were earlier indebted to Yuvraj and Ryder (60) for setting a big target. Though, Yuvraj hit five sixes including three in the last over which is bowled by seamer Ashok Dinda, in his 32-ball knock. In addition, Ryder hit five sixes in his 27-ball innings.
Moreover, Ryder super 54 innings gave a big total to his team. He hit two sixes in the first over of the innings off spinner Rao.
Ryder completed his half-century with an aggressive shot when he lofted left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem over long-on for a six before falling in the same over.
Nadeem and Dinda finished with two wickets apiece.

It was an awesome performance from both the partners Valthaty and Gilchrist, who lead the match for the Kings XI Punjab after crushing Deccan Chargers with eight wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium held on Saturday night.
Opting to a modest 166 runs target, Former Australian wicketkeeper Gilchrist and Valthaty both completed half-centuries with a six and added 136 for the opening wicket to ensure a comfortable win for Kings XI Punjab.
However, Gilchrist sum up a total of about 61 runs off 46 balls and left the stadium, whereas Valthaty made 75 runs off 47 balls for Kings XI Punjab and chased the victory for Kings IX Punjab with total of 166/2 in 17.4 overs.
In addition, Gilchrist hit three sixes and five fours while Valthaty, took five sixes and eight fours. Furthermore, Paul Valthaty was declared ‘Man of the Match’ for his all-round performance and received the Orange Cap for being the leading run scorer in the tournament so far.
Earlier, batting first, Deccan Chargers posted a total of 165 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Though, chargers couldn’t charged up on today’s game but the noteworthy performers from their squads are Shikhar Dhawan, who became the top scorer with a total 45 runs out of 36 balls including five boundaries and one six.
Whereas, Sangakkara made 35 runs out of 28 balls including five boundaries and Christian scored 30 runs out of 14 balls covering two boundaries and two sixes.
Apart from this, Mishra took two wickets from the Deccan Chargers. None of the other bowlers picked up a wicket. Ishant Sharma bowled well with an economy rate of 5.75 but failed to pick up wickets.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 21 runs and posted their second win from the last three matches in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty-20 tournament held at M A Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday.
Opting to bat first, CSK delivered an enthralling 183 off their 20 overs and then stopped RCB to 162 for seven in 20 overs.
However, this is CSK second victory after they had defeated against Kolkata Knight Riders in the inaugural match of the tournament by 2 runs.
For CSK, Opener Mike Hussey remained not out with 83 as he delivered a smashing innings along with partners M Vijay who made 31, Suresh Raina score 29 and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni added 22 runs.
Talking about Hussey innings, he reached almost half century in just 42 balls, including a six and 11 fours in his unbeaten innings. Though, CSK captain MS Dhoni hit a six and a four in his 16-ball 22 before Zaheer Khan had him caught behind by AB de Villiers.
In addition, Van der Wath took a fantastic two wickets for 49. Even, R Ninan procured two for 31, whereas Zaheer Khan took one for 33.
For RCB, the noteworthy performers were A B deVilliers who tried hard to make a fight of it with a sizzling 65 runs whereas Kohli acquired 35runs. Apart from them, no their batsmen lead the game.
For the Super Kings, the two pace bowlers A Morkel 2-34, Tim Southee 1-32, Lankan off spinner Suraj Randiv 2-26, local lad R Ashwin 1-23 and left arm spinner Sadab Jagati 1-36 shackled the Bangalore batsmen.
Chennai have made one change, brought Mike Hussey in for Scott Styris. For RCB, Asad Pathan has replaced S Aravind.
